ANSWERS TO POPULAR QUESTIONS

What is a "Domain Name"?
The Domain name is the name of your web site, such as 'YourCompany.Com' or the closest name to it that is available (due to the fact that so many names are already taken under the .com extension).

Can I have any website name?
Hundreds of thousands of names are being taken every week! Here is a piece of very good advice: If you think you would like a web site in the future then ask us to register your preferred domain name now otherwise someone else might. You may think that no one else will want 'Widgets.Com' but that name has already been bought. KnockOutWebsites4U can register your preferred domain name today so that no one beats you to it. The whole world is out there snapping up those great sounding names at an astounding and increasing rate.

If I type a name into my browser and no site comes up, does that mean it is available for me to register?
Unfortunately no. Millions of people have registered domain names for the future but have not commissioned development of the web site. KnockOutWebsites4U will undertake a search to ascertain if the domain names you are seeking are available.

What do all those different endings stand for - .com, .edu, .net, .org, .co.Uk, etc..?
.Co.uk means that the site is a United Kingdom site. A domain name ending in .co.uk receives a boost from major UK search engines. Such a name can also discourage Internet users in other countries from browsing your site. This can be an advantage or a disadvantage, it depends on whether your services are available internationally. If your target market is in the UK then we recommend a .co.uk name.

.COM stands for 'Commercial' and is not associated with any particular country .Com is generally considered to be the most impressive domain name, commercially speaking that is, it should really be used for international websites. .ORG stands for 'organization' and is usually used for non-profit making organizations. .EDU - education institution .NET - network site .GOV - government site.

You may register almost any kind of domain name (e.g. .com, .net, .org) the only difference is that .com has become more popular and therefore is more memorable. You can even register a domain name for another country e.g. .It (for Italy), .To (for Tonga) simply because you like the sound of the name e.g. JustDo.it although as you might expect that name is already gone.

How can I get business email addresses?
KnockOutWebsites4U can provide professional business email addresses It is very easy to arrange a free email address these days. Freeserve, AOL and HotMail... to name just a few of the service providers who will set up your free email address in minutes. HOWEVER many of these email addresses do not give the impression of a professional business. Also, it is not easy for a potential client to remember Chris_Wiggins1977@aol.com as it is to remember Chris@MyBusiness.com.

Your business email address and domain name influence the impression your customers have of you. Your own .com email address conveys a more professional image. When KnockOutWebsites4U arrange a domain name for you we can also provide you with enough email addresses for that domain name.

What is "email forwarding"?
All email sent to your new address(es) can be forwarded automatically to any other email address that you tell us if needed. So, your clients, friends etc. send email to You@YourName.com and it is automatically forwarded to say Chris_Wiggins77@aol.com.

How many email addresses can I have?
As many as you like. You may want for example: Sales@YourDomain.com, You@YourDomain.com and Fred@YourDomain.com. Email for each address can be forwarded to any other address or all to the same address.

What is an "Email Auto Responder"?
An email autoresponder will send a preset text file to anyone who sends an email to a designated email address on your account. For example, suppose your website promotes a document you have written called 'About Our Services'. Visitors to your site see a message inviting them to send an email to: AboutUs@YourDomain.com. Your autoresponder sends them the article, and if you wish can also save their email address for later. You could have dozens of articles automatically emailed to site visitors without any further effort from you. Meanwhile the autoresponder is gathering lists of email addresses from genuinely interested people.
